The state government has allocated 35 bighas of forest land for the construction of the college, for which the Forest Department has prepared a case under the Forest Conservation Act (FCA). This case will be sent to the Government of India soon.

On Tuesday, a team from the Nahan Forest Division, led by DFO Avni Bhushan Rai, inspected the selected land. During the inspection, the DFO stated that the draft under the FCA is being prepared and will soon be sent to the Government of India for approval.

The construction work of the college will commence as soon as forest clearance is received from the Government of India. The state government has approved a budget of ₹5 crore for this significant project, out of which ₹25 lakh has already been released to the construction agency, the Public Works Department.

Shri Renuka Ji Assembly Constituency MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Vinay Kumar, is continuously monitoring this project.

He has included the construction of the college among his priorities.Currently, the college operates in just four small rooms of the hostel at Government Senior Secondary School Shri Renuka Ji Dadahu, where approximately 250 undergraduate students are pursuing their education.

The construction of the new building will provide better facilities for students from around 25 panchayats in the area to access higher education. After the construction of the building, postgraduate (PG) classes are also likely to commence in the college.

This will alleviate the need for students from the area to travel to distant places like Nahan or Shimla for their PG studies. The map of the college, which will be built on 2.9 hectares (35 bighas) of land, has been sent to ANC Shimla.

The proposed design includes administrative and academic blocks, as well as an excellent sports ground. With the new building, the student strength of the college is expected to exceed 800.Notably, geo-tagging of the forest land where the college is proposed to be built has already been completed.During the site visit on Tuesday,

DFO Avni Bhushan Rai, Range Officer of the Forest Department Sumit, BO Praveen Thakur, Forest Guard Sheetal, Principal of the College Dr. Pawan Kumar, and Superintendent Grade 2 Akash Vishnoi were prominently present.DFO Avni Bhushan Rai and Principal of the College Dr. Pawan Kumar have confirmed this news.

The people of the area are now eagerly awaiting forest clearance from the Government of India so that the dreams of higher education for their children can be realized.
